Beta Terms
Vektor is an independent, experimental project currently provided as a free, invitation-only, non-commercial closed beta for product testing and research. No purchase, subscription, or payment is required. These Terms form the agreement between you and the operator named below.
Eligibility and access
- You must be at least 18 years old and use a valid invitation intended for you.
- Access is personal, revocable, non-transferable, and may expire or be suspended at any time.
- You must provide accurate account information and keep your credentials secure.
Experimental service
The Beta may be changed, interrupted, reset, or discontinued. Features, availability, training plans, scores, recommendations, and stored results may contain errors. There is no service-level commitment and no promise of a commercial launch. Vektor scores and coaching are informational training feedback, not a professional, medical, or official esports assessment.
Acceptable use
Do not cheat, automate access, probe or disrupt the service, evade access controls, misuse another person's account or invitation, upload unlawful material, or interfere with other testers. We may investigate abuse and suspend or terminate access to protect the Beta and its users.
Feedback and intellectual property
You keep ownership of feedback you create. By submitting feedback, you give the operators a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free right to use, reproduce, adapt, and analyse it to operate and improve Vektor. The service, software, visual identity, and training content remain owned by their respective rights holders. Counter-Strike, Steam, and Valve are trademarks or services of Valve Corporation; Vektor is independent and is not endorsed by or affiliated with Valve.
Liability and ending access
Use the Beta at your own risk and back up anything you need. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the operators are not liable for indirect or consequential loss caused by Beta defects or downtime. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including liability for intent, gross negligence, or injury to life, body, or health. You may stop using the Beta and request account deletion at any time. German law applies without removing mandatory consumer protections that apply in your country of residence.
Privacy Notice
Privacy Notice effective 20 July 2026.
Vektor.gg determines how personal data is used for the Beta and acts as the controller. You can exercise your rights through the contact in the Operator Information section.
Data we process
- Account and profile data: email, password hash, nickname, name, country, date of birth, invitation status, document acceptance, and account status.
- Steam data: SteamID and profile information returned through Steam sign-in or linking.
- Gameplay and performance data: assignments, server sessions, gameplay events, shots and hits, module results, metrics, scores, training history, and CS2 demo recordings used for scoring.
- Server-region data: the supported DatHost region selected for a training session, or the service default. We do not infer this choice from precise device location.
- Technical and security data: IP address, user agent, authentication and security logs, timestamps, cookies needed for login, and service diagnostics.
- Product-use and communication data: feature events, page context, feedback, support messages, and contact preferences you provide.
Why we use it and legal bases
- To create your account, provide the invited Beta, run training, and calculate results: performance of our agreement (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).
- To secure, diagnose, operate, and improve the Beta, prevent abuse, and understand aggregate usage: our legitimate interests in running a safe and useful test (Article 6(1)(f)).
- To meet binding legal duties and respond to lawful requests: legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)).
- Where a future optional feature legally requires consent, we will ask separately; accepting these Terms is not blanket consent to data processing.
Service providers and transfers
Data is shared only as needed with infrastructure and database hosting providers, DatHost for CS2 servers and demos, Valve/Steam for account linking, Resend for transactional email, PostHog EU when product analytics export is enabled, and professional advisers or authorities where legally required. Some providers may process data outside Germany or the EEA. Where GDPR requires it, we rely on an adequacy decision or approved contractual safeguards. We do not sell personal data and do not use it for paid advertising.
Retention
We keep data only while needed for the Beta, security, scoring, or legal claims. Current default cleanup periods are 30 days for terminal assignments, 180 days for spray recordings, 365 days for raw gameplay events, 180 days for product events, and 180 days for authentication audit logs. CS2 demos are acquired for scoring with a current acquisition deadline of up to 24 hours; resulting scores and training history may remain with the account. Account/profile data remains while the account is active and is deleted or anonymised after a valid deletion request unless a limited record must be retained for security or law. Backups may retain residual copies until they rotate.
Your rights
Subject to applicable conditions, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may also complain to a data protection authority, including the authority where you live or work. Contact us at privacy@vektor.gg. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Security, automated results, and changes
We use access controls, hashed passwords, encrypted transport, and operational logging, but no system is completely secure. Automated calculations generate training scores and recommendations; they do not produce legal or similarly significant effects. Material changes will receive a new version/date and, when appropriate, renewed acceptance before continued use.
